This is the lovely view from the Hotel Oxford in Rome. This is my second time staying here and I just love the location and the friendly staff. located on Via Boncompagni it’s a short walk to the the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, and the Pantheon.
The hotel has a small bar and restaurant. Sometimes hotel food is not great, but the food here is delicious and they make a fresh strawberry bellini pictured below:
Our favorite bartender Carlo, made these bellinis for us by blending fresh strawberries to make a puree and adding it to chilled presecco.
Now on to the food! The first restaurant we went to Al Forno della Soffitta had the best pizza ever!
Pizza with Bacon, Mozzarella, Pecorino, Tomato, and Crushed Red Pepper
If you visit Rome, make sure you visit this restaurant it is a must!
Gelato near the Trevi Fountain
Coconut Gelato a little out of focus, but you get the picture
Next up dinner at Ristorante Bar Ritorno al Passato near the Pantheon. The food was definitely not the best food I have had in Italy, but still very good especially the tiramisu. Check out the pics below. I have to apologize for the quality, the lighting was pretty bad.
Pappardelle with sausage, mushrooms and peas in a cream sauce
Next stop Florence! Also keep an eye out for my take on the bacon pizza featured in this post. Could you guess the first thing I made would be pizza!
