Buffalo Chicken Wontons

This is one of my favorite appetizer recipes! I know the super bowl is right around the corner and this is perfect if you plan on having a party.  It’s the flavor you love from buffalo wings, but not as messy. It’s also great if you have leftover rotisserie chicken. Serve with blue cheese dip and your good to go. You can serve it with a traditional cold blue cheese dip or try it with a warm blue cheese sauce like this one.

Buffalo Chicken Wontons

  • 1 cup shredded chicken
  • 1 tbs melted butter
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 2 tbs hot sauce
  • 1 tbs sriracha
  • ½ tsp lime juice
  • 1 tsp finely chopped cilantro

Wonton wrappers

*Makes approximately 14

Mix all ingredients in a bowl until combined. Place a teaspoon of filing in the center of your wonton wrapper. Brush a little water on the edges and fold wrapper in half to form a triangle. Gently press edges together to seal. Wontons can be cooked right away or frozen for later use.

Heat about ½ inch of oil in a pan to 350 degrees. Cook wontons for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown. Drain on paper towel. Serve with blue cheese dip

Blue Cheese Dip

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup mayo
  • 1 tbs lemon juice
  • 1 dash hot sauce
  • 1 dash worcestershire
  • ½ cup crumbled blue cheese
  • ¼ tsp salt
Ok so I forgot to write down the exact measurements for this dip, but this should be pretty close. It also depends on the how thick you like your dip. I usually keep mine pretty chunky with lots of blue cheese, but you can thin it out with a little heavy cream or milk. Just combine all the ingredients and mix until combined
