I wanted to share some photos from a recent trip to Jamaica. I have to say I absolutely loved Jamaica! We stayed in Montego Bay, but we had a chance to visit Ocho Rios and Negril with a driver. If you check out my YouTube channel you can find a video and more information about our driver Solomon. We stayed directly across the street from Doctor’s Cave beach. The beach does charge an entrance fee, but our hotel provided free daily passes. The beach is small, but extremely peaceful and the water is beautiful. You can seriously just lay out for hours! A beach bar is close by and the servers come around to you on the beach so you don’t even have to move until your ready lol.
On the way to Ocho Rios. If you couldn’t tell, thats my mom on the right. Thanks to DannieDukes for the pic!
Dunn’s River Falls in Ocho Rios
Be aware there is a fee to get into the Falls. There a beach there, but it is small and I mean very small. So if you don’t plan on climbing the falls, I wouldn’t bother paying the entrance fee. Don’t get me wrong, it is a lovely place, but not worth it if you just plan on looking.
On the way back to Montego Bay, we stopped at the Chill Out Hut. The food was amazing and the view was even better. Our original plan was to go to the Far Out Fish Hut which is almost next door, but the service was not the greatest and they had no fish available so back in the car we went just down the road to the Chill Out Hut.
Hammocks to relax after your meal
Jamaican breakfast at our hotel. Beans and saltfish, callaloo, fried dumpling, steamed dumpling, yam, and boiled green banana
Another breakfast. This time just fried fish, callaloo, and toast
Next, we headed to Negril. As soon as we get there of course, it starts to rain. That means time for food. We stopped at a restaurant Cosmo’s right on Seven Mile Beach
Jerk chicken, peas and rice, festival bread, and a Red Stripe of course
We couldn’t leave Negril without stopping at Rick’s Cafe to watch the cliff divers
On our last night, we headed to Marguerite’s restaurant which sits right on the water. I will say this, the ambiance is very nice and they do have a nice wine list. Everything on the menu sounds really good. Unfortunately, the food was at best just ok. They even make your ceasar salad table side. You would think that would at least be good. If you can mess up a salad, you have a problem. Scallops and shrimp
