I seriously miss New Orleans already! This year I visited a few new places and of course my favorites like Deanie’s, Erin Rose, and Felix’s. I was able to try Acme Oyster this time, twice actually and braved the line both times. Now I can finally make my judgement as to if Acme is worth the wait or if you should just go to Felix’s across the street with shorter to no lines. I honestly like Felix’s just a little better but Acme was definitely tasty. I was also able to check out some great music and do a little shopping.
Big Chief Monk Boudreaux @ D.B.A.
Char Grilled Oysters @ Felix’s
Bread Pudding (sooooooo good!)
Char Grilled Oysters @ Deanie’s Seafood
Crab Quartet: Stuffed Crab, Crabmeat au Gratin, and a Double order of Fried Crab Claws instead of a Soft Shell Crab
Bacchanal Wine: I loved this place. Great wine selection with friendly staff to help with your selection. Pick your own cheese from the fridge and they arrange the cheese plate for you. Nice menu selection and live music.
Chicken St. Charles: Crispy chicken breast over a buttermilk biscuit, topped with poached eggs, finished with a tasso cream sauce @ Ruby Slipper
Eggs Coubion: Thin-fried Mississippi farm-raised catfish over french bread spears, topped with poached eggs, a sautè of spinach, tomatoes, artichoke hearts and tasso, finished with a Creole tomato Court bouillon
Wednesday you get to keep your pint glass!
Have to end with a Sazerac from the hotel’s Carousel Bar. After three years of staying here I was finally able to sit at the carousel lol
