My last school trip of the year was spent visiting beautiful chateaus over the course of three days in Bordeaux. We spent our days up bright and early beginning with tours of the estate, vineyard, and cellars followed by tasting. We were even lucky enough to have lunch at two lovely chateaus. We began our visits with Chateau Guiraud followed by lunch at the estate.
After our delicious lunch we toured Chateau d’Yquem followed by a tasting of their 2005 Sauternes.
We ended our first day at Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte. We ended our night with dinner at the hotel and a nice bottle of 1979 Chateau Margaux. The next morning, our first stop was Chateau Cos d’Estournel.
Next we arrived at Chateau Montrose. How amazing is their barrel room?!Our next stop was Chateau Pichon Longueville Baron for a visit and tasting followed by lunch.
We ended our second day at Chateau Lafite Rothschild. We ended our night with dinner at L’Envers du Decor. This was my second time visiting. They have a great wine list but also some of the best creme brule I have ever had.
Our last day began at Chateau Teyssier for a short tour and tasting.
Next stop was Beau-Sejour Becot. We stopped for a little break and a beautiful lunch at Lodgis de la Cadene in St. Emilion.
We ended our trip with a tasting at Chateau Valandraud and some free time in St. Emilion before heading back to Paris.
