- Wine: Vignerons de Florensac Picpoul de Pinet ‘P’ White 2016
- Region: Languedoc, AOP Languedoc Picpoul de Pinet
- Grape: Picpoul
Like most of my East Coast peeps, I am sick of the cold and snow! While we may have some time before it warms up, this wine has me dreaming of summer. It’s fresh, bright, and the price is right! This bottle was only $8.99 and most will be around the same. It gives me tart lemon meringue with a bit of floral notes. Soft and delicate with great acidity.
Picpoul pairs well with seafood, rich cheese and charcuterie. Surprisingly, it also works insanely good with dark chocolate. I tried it with the Ritual Madagascar bar. The citrus notes in the chocolate work perfectly with the wine. This will definitely be a summer go to for me but until then, I’ll enjoy a glass of liquid sunshine while dreaming of those lovely days ahead. Santé
