Every year for my birthday I have the same dilemma. What to do?! The older I get the less I feel like partying and the more I want to relax and do something low key. I was undecided for a while as to what I wanted to do, but because I planned to celebrate on a Sunday, I figured brunch would be perfect. While I do enjoy cooking, I didn’t want to spend all day in the kitchen so I did take a few short cuts with my menu. To save on time, I purchased the chicken for my chicken and waffles and also full size crab cakes which I made into minis. I had so many things I wanted to make, it was so hard to narrow them down. Besides the items pictured, I also made a caramelized onion and spinach quiche and fresh fruit skewers.
Orange and Grapefruit Juice for Mimosas
Maple Glazed Bacon with Pecans
Chicken and Buttermilk Cornmeal Waffles
Individual Lobster Mac n Cheese
Mini Crab Cakes with Tarragon Mayo and Sweet Tomato Jam
Blinis with Smoked Salmon, Caviar and Creme Fraiche
Mini Tacos with Guacamole, Skirt Steak, Tecate Battered Shrimp, and Chipotle Crema
Buttermilk Cake Donuts with Cinnamon Sugar
A Little Snack of Caviar and Creme Fraiche on Toasted Brioche
Every item on your menu was beautifully prepared and tasted like heaven!
I agree with H. Glover! Well done! Encore!
